⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

Please be aware of misleading posts and ads circulating online claiming that LIHEAP offers free window replacements for seniors. These claims are FALSE and scams like this are now reaching Illinois communities.

LIHEAP only assists with home energy costs through local Community Action Agencies and does NOT provide window replacement services. Always verify information through trusted sources and avoid clicking suspicious links or sharing personal information online.

Officials in Kentucky are warning residents about a scam involving the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, commonly known as LIHEAP.

The alert comes after misleading online posts claimed the program offers free window replacements for qualifying seniors. State officials say those claims are false. LIHEAP does not provide window replacement services and is only available through local Community Action Agencies to assist with home energy costs.

Authorities are urging residents to be cautious of social media ads or messages that promise benefits not associated with the program. They recommend avoiding clicking suspicious links and verifying information through official sources.

Anyone who believes they may have encountered a scam is encouraged to report it to local officials.

Adventure + learning = the perfect Head Start field trip! 🌟

Our Menard Head Start students recently visited the Illinois State Museum and had an amazing time exploring rivers 🏞️, discovering fossils 🦴, and learning about the rich history of Illinois. Students also enjoyed hands-on fun with interactive toys and science equipment that sparked curiosity and excitement all day long!

Experiences like these help bring learning to life while encouraging exploration, imagination, and discovery. 💙

Kentrisha recently graduated from Western Illinois University with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education. Even more impressive, she was 1 of only 6 recipients honored with an Award of Academic Excellence in Outstanding Pre-Service Teaching! 👏

Kentrisha has dedicated nearly 12 years to CAPCIL, making a lasting impact on the children and families she serves every day. Her passion, commitment, and hard work continue to shine both in and out of the classroom.

We are proud to announce that Bailee Wierman of Monticello High School has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Piatt Trust Scholarship, receiving $10,000 toward her future education! 👏

Bailee will be attending the University of Missouri to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. Her passion for helping others began while caring for her younger siblings as the eldest daughter in her family and through her work at a local daycare. She also discovered a strong interest in the medical field after participating in Kirby Medical Center's HealthCARE Pathways program during her junior year.

Bailee shared that this scholarship will help make her dream of working in healthcare a reality while easing the financial burden of college. 🩺❤️
