Earning this shield takes dedication, hard work, and commitment. During probation, firefighters must complete numerous classes, hands-on training, and department requirements to prepare them to serve our community.

Today, in honor and remembrance of the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, Firefighter Porter participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Fayetteville.

Here at home, our on-duty day shift crew Captain Franks and Firefighters Snider and Green completed a stair climb at the City of Lincoln Training Tower.

Our on-duty night shift crew Captain Keeten Jones and Firefighters Gamble and Thomas also honored the fallen with their own stair climb last night.

Each step was taken in honor of the fallen heroes who climbed toward danger while helping others escape to safety. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

We climb because they climbed. Never forget. 343 🇺🇸
