Yesterday, Lancaster County welcomed Cornhusker Girls State delegates for a behind-the-scenes look at county government.

Board Chair Christa Yoakum hosted the visit and tour, sharing how county services work, what it means to serve in local government, and why civic engagement starts at the local level. Delegates toured county facilities, sat at the commissioner dais, and had the chance to ask questions directly.

Cornhusker Girls State is a program that gives Nebraska high school students a hands-on look at how government works. We were glad to be part of it.

We are proud to see a Lancaster County student like Khloe helping to shape the future of animal health and support our rural communities.

Way to go, Khloe!
