Press Release – Town of Lincoln On April 17th and 18th, the Lincoln Police Department and the Lincoln Animal Control Officer (ACO) received multiple reports of a coyote behaving aggressively in the area of Sherman Avenue. The animal exhibited behavior toward both people and pets that was inconsistent with normal wildlife activity.

In one instance, a resident walking his dog was chased by the coyote. Fortunately, the individual was able to fend the animal off without injury. Later that afternoon, Lincoln Police officers located the coyote, which continued to display erratic and aggressive behavior. In the interest of public safety, the animal was euthanized.
The coyote’s remains were submitted for testing, and results have confirmed that the animal was infected with rabies.

Town officials remind residents to exercise caution when encountering coyotes or any wildlife exhibiting aggressive or unusual behavior. Residents are encouraged to avoid approaching wildlife, secure pets, and report any concerning animal activity to Lincoln Animal Control @ 401-333-0950 or Lincoln Police at 401-333-1111.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island officials have launched a new 511 system aimed at making it easier for residents to report potholes and track repair progress across the state.

Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced the rollout of a new pothole hotline and online dashboard designed to improve how road issues are reported and addressed.

The new system allows Rhode Islanders to quickly report potholes on state-maintained roads while also giving the public the ability to monitor when and where repairs are being made.

Officials said the goal of the initiative is to improve communication with residents and increase transparency around road maintenance efforts statewide.
