๐Ÿ‘ฃ"El Caminoโ€”if you ever have the chance to walk it, please do. And if you can experience this pilgrimage alongside a priest, even better. In 2017, I walked the Camino de Santiago across Spain with my younger brother, now Father Hile, Father Rodriguez, and several seminarians. As one of the oldest pilgrims in the group, I spent much of the month tending blisters, passing out Tylenol, and reminding exhausted young men to drink water. Yet in return, I received far more than I gave: daily Mass, shared prayer, honest conversations, blessings, and the witness of men preparing to become spiritual fathers." ๐Ÿ™ Read "A Father's Faithful Presence", the latest by Katie Patrick: https://loom.ly/w9UtFLg

โœจ โ€“ Staff Spotlight: Diana Amayaโœจ

Diana Amaya has served CSS Hastings as our Bilingual Family Support Services Coordinator & Case Manager for almost four years now, and has been a great blessing to our mission! Diana works hard, is incredibly compassionate, and sees the potential in every person she works with. We are grateful for the dedication, kindness, and hope she brings to Catholic Social Services each day. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

Diana will be sharing her personal testimony at our upcoming Building Blessing + Family Festival! Catholic Social Services impacted her life in a profound way, and her story is a powerful reminder of how God works through our mission to transform lives. It is a testimony you won't want to miss!

In the meantime, get to know Diana a little better through the questions below!โฌ‡

What does a typical day look like in your role?

"Every day is different, but most days involve meeting with individuals and families, listening to their needs, connecting them with resources, and helping them take the next steps toward stability. Sometimes I simply spend time listening and being present with someone who needs to be heard. I especially enjoy when families come back to share how things have been going since we last spoke and to celebrate the progress they have made."

What is your favorite part of your job?

"My favorite part is building relationships with people and being able to tell someone, โ€œWe are going to figure this out,โ€ during a difficult time in their life."

Share a memorable moment you've experienced while working here?

"One of my most recent memorable moments was sitting down and playing cards with an individual we helped secure housing for. Seeing how well he is doing and sharing that simple moment of connection filled me with joy. It was a reminder that our work is about more than meeting immediate needs, it is about building and celebrating relationships."

What does HOPE in the Good Life mean to you?

"To me, HOPE in the Good Life means helping people see that their current situation does not define their future. It means knowing there is a community here that will walk alongside them, support them, and encourage them as they work toward a more stable and fulfilling life. Hope is believing that change is possible and that no one has to face life's challenges alone."
