Today we honor the Stars and Stripes, the enduring symbol of our nation's freedom, unity, and sacrifice.
Flag Day commemorates June 14, 1777, when the Continental Congress adopted the American flag as the official flag of the United States. For nearly 250 years, our flag has represented the courage of those who have served, the resilience of our nation, and the ideals that bring us together as Americans.
As Veterans, we understand that the flag is more than fabric and thread. It represents the men and women who have defended our freedoms, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the generations who continue to serve our country.
Today, take a moment to display your flag proudly, reflect on what it stands for, and remember those who have protected it.

While you’re enjoying the long weekend with family, friends, and freedom, take a moment to remember those who made it possible.
Memorial Day is for the Americans who gave everything and never made it home. The empty seats at family tables. The folded flags in living rooms. The names etched into stone.
Today, we remember their sacrifice and honor their legacy.
From all of us at VFW Post 3606, may we never forget the true cost of freedom.
