Lincoln Park Fire Department

Lincoln Park Fire Department The Lincoln Park Fire Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 52 weeks a year operation.

First established in 1925, the Lincoln Park Fire Department professionally fulfills its mission statement by utilizing highly modernized technology, aggressive and realistic training, providing effective fire suppression activities, Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to the community and a dedicated commitment to its citizens. This is also accomplished through many avenues utilizing emergency pr

eparedness plans, fire prevention activities, fire code enforcement and investigations, public and professional education, hazardous materials response teams, modern fire tactics, highly trained medical staff and other specialized services and programs. The Fire Department personnel consists of 18 full-time dedicated Firefighters, one Fire Chief and one part-time Secretary. All Firefighters, Sergeants, Lieutenants and Captains are state-licensed, fully qualified, paramedics, with a high degree of 85-year time-honored Esprit de corps work ethic, who are capable of handling local emergencies. They are also trained to operate the City’s emergency rescue ambulance, back-up rescue/rehab vehicle, two engine pumpers and the 75’ aerial ladder truck. Through efficient time-tested operational fire ground and ALS procedures, they have become one of the most successful departments in the Downriver area. Although roughly 50-years old, the Fire Station, centrally located at 1355 Cleophus, still provides a substantially effective functional living and working space for the firefighters, housing both administration, suppression, ALS activities, training and specialized community needs. This includes the Decontamination Room for sanitization of equipment and personnel, the Apparatus Floor for fire engine placement and small mechanical repair, medical equipment/supply area, Watch Room and Officers Room, where citizen questions and other needs are addressed. The upstairs, furthermore, has the Department’s administration offices, kitchen, dining room, locker room, bathroom, dorm, living and fitness areas for firefighters. While the basement provides an additional storeroom space for surplus, records, equipment and supplies, in addition to the Fire Inspector’s evidence containers. The Lincoln Park Fire Department stands ready to serve its community.
