After 24 years of dedicated service to the Lincoln Park Police Department, we bid farewell to Captain John Clements #39.

Captain Clements began his career in law enforcement with the Morris County Sheriff's Department Bureau of Corrections in 1999 before joining our ranks in 2000. Throughout his tenure, Captain Clements served in various capacities, starting as Patrolman and gradually advancing to Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant, and ultimately, Captain. His journey has been marked by countless contributions to public safety for the betterment of our community.

Captain Clements' contributions to public safety include thousands of traffic stops and hundreds of arrests during his time on patrol. He played a pivotal role in developing informants for numerous drug distribution investigations. His dedication to solving crimes was evident in his successful investigation of multiple burglary and missing persons cases.

Notably, Captain Clements' commitment extended beyond local borders. He was a valued member of the SERT team with Pequannock Township Police Department in the early 2000s, and he participated as an investigator and SERT member for Morris County Task Force operations. His willingness to serve in times of crisis took him to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, where he assisted in rescue, recovery, and patrol efforts.

Moreover, Captain Clements has played an instrumental role in enhancing patrol operations and advancing communications technology within the Lincoln Park Police Department, contributing to our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of our community.

As he embarks on this new chapter of his life, please join us in congratulating Captain John Clements on his well-deserved retirement and wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.

We have received complaints about parking violations in the fire zones at locations throughout town, most notably, Lincoln Park Plaza.

Please πƒπŽ ππŽπ“ park in the fire zone at Lincoln Park Plaza or anywhere else as it blocks access and escape routes to the businesses and endangers others.

If you don't park in a fire zone, don't change a thing! If you do, choose safety over convenience and stop parking in the fire zone. Unless, of course, you're driving a fire truck!πŸš’
