Major data center projects have options when choosing where to locate, and regions like Allen County stand out for a reason. Northwest Ohio offers key advantages that matter for this type of investment, including direct access US-30 and I-75, access to major fiber connectivity, extensive utility infrastructure, available land, and a strong workforce pipeline supported by nearby colleges, universities, and local career centers.

Site selection experts have pointed to these strengths as reasons the region is increasingly competitive for data center development. This kind of opportunity does not happen by accident. It reflects years of investment in the assets, infrastructure, and people that make the region well-positioned for long-term growth.

On Memorial Day, we honor those who gave their lives in service to this nation.

We are proud of this community's role in defending freedom — on the factory floor and on the front lines. To the fallen: your debt can never be repaid. To the families they left behind: we remember with you.

AEDG is proud to work alongside the Port Authority of Allen County (PAAC) to drive our community forward.

Thanks to newly secured state funding, PAAC is leading the charge in cleaning up contaminated properties, transforming underutilized sites into prime locations for future redevelopment, new businesses, and job creation.

Thank you, PAAC, for your dedication to building a brighter, stronger future for the Lima region!

The Allen County Port Authority received nearly $1 million in state brownfield funding to continue environmental cleanup and redevelopment preparation efforts at several properties in the Lima area.

AEDG's approach to economic development starts with one principle: show up.
In 2024 alone, our team had substantial conversations with over 75 businesses in Allen County. Those conversations led to approximately 20 active economic development projects. Retention and expansion of existing businesses is the most reliable driver of regional economic growth — and it requires consistent, personal relationship-building.

For companies already operating in Lima/Allen County: if we haven't connected recently, let's change that. AEDG's role is to help you grow, access incentives, navigate permitting, connect with workforce resources, and solve problems.

That's what we're here for. Reach us at aedg.org.

What does 70+ years of community investment look like? Superior Credit Union started in 1954 with 15 employees and $15 in a hat. Today, it's a nearly $2 billion financial institution — and every dollar it generates stays right here in the Lima community.

AEDG is proud to work alongside partners like Superior Credit Union and Greater Lima Region to build on this momentum and create lasting opportunities for businesses and residents across Allen County.

Before there were branches or billions of dollars in assets, Superior Credit Union began with 15 coworkers, a hat and $15.

One of the most common questions communities ask is what a project like this means for local jobs and the broader economy. According to the Regional Growth Partnership, large-scale data center campuses are expected to support more than 1,000 construction jobs at peak, while also driving major infrastructure improvements through coordination with local governments and utility partners.

According to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation, Ohio’s data center industry contributed $11.8 billion to the state’s GDP in 2024 and supported approximately 95,000 jobs statewide that same year.
