🇺🇸 25 YEARS LATER… WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸
Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001 — a day that changed America and touched the entire world forever.
Twenty-five years ago, on a beautiful September morning, our sense of safety and normalcy was shattered. Nearly 3,000 innocent people never made it home to their families. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, and ordinary citizens ran toward danger while others were desperately trying to escape it. The courage and sacrifice witnessed that day will never be forgotten.
9/11 changed our country. It changed the way we traveled, the way we looked at security, and the way an entire generation understood the world. But it also reminded us of something powerful: when tragedy struck, Americans came together. Strangers helped strangers. Communities stood shoulder to shoulder. Flags appeared everywhere. And for a time, we remembered what it meant to be united.
And here in Lilly, Pennsylvania, we will always remember.
We remember the 2,977 lives lost, the families who were forever changed, the heroes who gave everything they had, and the countless first responders and service members whose sacrifices continued long after that terrible day.
We especially remember the 40 brave souls of Flight 93, who fought back and gave their lives in a quiet Pennsylvania field so that others might live.
From our small town of Lilly, we send our deepest respect and gratitude to every person who gave, every person who served, every family who sacrificed, and every hero who never came home.
25 years have passed, but the memories remain.
May we continue to teach our children and grandchildren what happened.
May we continue to honor those we lost.
May we never forget the heroes.
And may we never forget how important it is to stand together.
