Last night multiple Departments from around the county met in Lillington to drill on critical skills that could one day help save the lives of firefighters in our community. Firefighters practiced removing a downed member in their PPE out a window, as well as removing them up a set of stairs in smokey low visibility conditions. Lastly everyone participated in a short Rapid Intervention drill using team work and technical skills to remove another downed member through a series of obstacles, all in very low visibility while on stored breathing air and with limited time available. We would like to thank you local mutual aid partners for coming together to continue the hard work, and passing on valuable lessons to our next generation of firefighters.
