It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our resident black bears, Odi.

Our team noticed a significant decline in her health and behavior and after careful consideration from the animal care staff and the veterinary staff, the difficult decision was made to humanely euthanize her.

Odi was the last of the original four black bears that dated back to the Game Ranch days. She lived over half of her life under the ownership of the Game Ranch and was able spend the last 6 years of her life under new ownership and in a large, naturalistic habitat where she would never have to touch concrete again. Odi was an incredible animal and served as an excellent ambassador for her species. Her memory will always live on at Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary.
