📚📖What a great week we have had celebrating the literacy event called Read Across America! This wonderful week started off with our “Readers are Leaders” Day in which various community members took time out of their day to come and read to our classrooms and explain different ways that reading plays a major role in their jobs. Next up was our “Bookmark Bonanza” Day in which all students were able to design their own unique bookmark for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to our upcoming BookFair on March 16-20. We followed this day up by showing our support for the book called “The Smart Cookie” where all students in the school were provided with cookies to eat while they read that day. We then finished our week off by participating in “Lights Out for Reading” Day and “Hats off to Reading” Day in which all students were given small flashlights to read with and all students were given the opportunity to wear a hat of their choosing to school to show their support for a love of reading! Thanks to all who participated in this week and for showing our students just how much fun reading can be!

🦅📚🏅Congratulations to Lilbourn Elementary’s 4th/5th grade Beta student members on scoring in the top 8 Missouri teams for the Quiz Bowl and Musicology online competitions! These Beta students have now qualified to advance to the state onsite rounds in March! We are so proud of you and this amazing achievement! 🏅📚🦅

*For example if your bus normally picks up at 7:10, it wil pick up today at 8:10.
