On May 29, 2026, the Kauaʻi Police Department participated in a homeless community outreach and trash cleanup along areas of Kapaʻa Beach Park, the Ke Ala Hele Makālae coastal path, and in Keālia.

Crews from local, state, and non-profit agencies, as well as other civilians, assisted with the extensive removal of rubbish and debris littering these public spaces.

In addition to the clean up efforts, individuals in the area were respectfully approached and provided information about support services, including shelter and relocation resources.

🙌 Mahalo to all who took part in todayʻs collaborative community effort to improve the quality of life for everyone on Kauaʻi!

Congratulations to the 2026 Graduating Class!

It’s a time for celebrating milestones. But as celebrations begin, the Kaua’i Police Department wants to remind everyone that safety comes first.

🔺Don’t drink and drive
🚘Have a plan before the night starts (designated driver, rideshare, or staying over)
👭Look out for your friends and speak up if something feels off

A fun night shouldn’t turn into a life-changing emergency. Celebrate the right way so you can remember it for all the right reasons.

KPD officers will ramp up DUI enforcement efforts during graduation season. If you see dangerous driving or suspicious behavior, please call KPD Dispatch at (808) 241-1711. For emergencies, dial 911.
