Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department #1, Waterford Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department #1, Waterford We are a volunteer Fire department in Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County.

We have 8 apparatus housed in station: Engines 44-1 and 44-2, Tanker 44, Rescue 44, Utility 44, Brush 44, Ranger 44 and Squad 44. We have numerous fundraisers during the year including Bingo on Monday nights and Fish Fries on Friday evenings during lent. During the Spring and Fall we hold a Gun Bash and every summer we host the Blue Grass Festival. We have many other fundraising events such as concerts, Drive-in movies and we take our food wagon to Fort Ligonier Days and Latrobe's 4th of July celebration.

100% of our fundraising monies are utilized to maintain our Firehall, Apparatus and gear. If you are inclined to donate you may do so online through our secured link at https://pay.ligtwpvfd1.org

⚠️ IMPORTANT STORM SAFETY REMINDER: DOWNED POWER LINES ⚠️

With the severe weather that moved through our county, please be extremely cautious around downed power lines. Always assume a downed wire is energized and dangerous.

🔌 KEEP YOUR DISTANCE: Stay at least 30–35 feet away—about the length of a school bus. If it is a high-voltage transmission line, stay at least 100 feet away.

📞 CALL FOR HELP: Call 911 or your local electric utility immediately to report the hazard.

🚫 DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING NEAR THE LINE: Stay away from tree branches, puddles, vehicles, fences, or anything else that may be in contact with the wire. Electricity can travel through these objects.

🛑 NEVER ATTEMPT A RESCUE: If someone is in contact with a downed wire, do not approach or touch them. Call 911 immediately. You could become a second victim.

📲 PLEASE SHARE: Pass this information along to your family, friends, and neighbors. A few extra seconds of caution could save a life.

We would like to thank everyone who made our 2026 Lenten Fish Fry such a great success! A special thank you to those who generously made desserts, volunteered their time to help, and especially to everyone who came out to share a meal with us.
