Special Guest Alert! Join us as we welcome WJAC-TV Meteorologist Austin Long () to the Ligonier Valley Library!

We are kicking off our new Homeschool Hub with an exciting dive into the world of meteorology. Local homeschoolers are invited to learn directly from a pro and explore the science of weather through fun, hands-on activities!

When: Wednesday, September 23rd at 2:00 PM
Where: The Community Room at the Ligonier Valley Library

What we're doing this month:
Meet Austin Long and learn how the weather works
Create a tornado in a jar
Simulate real rain and frost
Build a pinecone barometer
Craft your own wind chimes to take home!

The library will remain closed today (Friday 9/4) as we recover from the power outage. The Ligonier Valley Police are still reporting that some roads are unsafe, so please be careful out there. We will reopen tomorrow morning (Saturday 9/5) at 10:00am. Sending a big thank you to our first responders and utility crews that are working to keep us safe and get things up and running again!

Today we're remembering the incredible impact Dolly Parton has had on libraries and on children’s love of reading through her Imagination Library. Her commitment to putting books into the hands of children has inspired generations of young readers.
