Hurricane Season begins today!
📅 June 1 – November 30
It's time to get prepared, stay informed, and ensure your family's safety.
✅ Check your emergency kits
✅ Review evacuation routes
✅ Secure important documents
✅ Follow trusted weather alerts
✅ Look out for your neighbors
Now is the time to trim trees and shrubbery, and remove coconuts. Having your property maintained before a storm will help to ensure that our Public Works Department will be able to assist all areas of the City during unexpected emergencies.
From June 1 to November 30, building material shall be loaded on a roof no earlier than twenty (20) working days prior to the permanent installation of those materials. This will be strictly enforced.
Follow the City's website and social media for updates, safety tips, and storm tracking throughout the season. Sign up for emergency alerts by texting 33064 to 888-777.
Stay safe, stay ready.

As Memorial Day weekend begins, the Lighthouse Point Police Department would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly. If your plans include alcohol, please use a designated driver, rideshare service, or other safe transportation option. Most importantly, buckle up every trip, every time. Seat belts save lives.

Our officers will continue participating in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign through the end of the month with increased seat belt enforcement efforts throughout the city.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and memorable Memorial Day weekend as we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The Lighthouse Point Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, purchased raffle and auction items, and supported this year’s Tip-A-Cop fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Florida.

Because of the incredible generosity of our community, sponsors, local businesses, and supporters, the event was a tremendous success. Your support helps provide opportunities for Special Olympics athletes to compete, grow, and inspire others through sports and teamwork.

We are truly grateful to everyone who came out, met our officers, and helped make the evening such a memorable event. Thank you for continuing to support such an amazing cause and for helping us make a positive impact in the lives of these outstanding athletes. As always a special thank you to Bonefish Mac’s for hosting this event each year!

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

🚔 Buckle Up, Lighthouse Point! 🚔

Law enforcement agencies across the country are joining the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Click It or Ticket campaign to remind everyone that seat belts save lives. This program runs May18th-May 31st Statewide.

One of the safest choices drivers and passengers can make is to buckle up — every trip, every seat, every time. Seat belts are your best defense in a crash and help protect you from impaired, aggressive, and distracted drivers.

Our officers will be conducting high-visibility enforcement efforts and reminding motorists that if you’re not wearing your seat belt, you may receive a citation.

Remember:
✔ Shoulder belt across your chest — not under your arm or behind your back
✔ Lap belt across your hips — not your stomach
✔ Buckle up on short trips and long trips alike

Seat belts save lives. Click It or Ticket.
