Veterans, SAVE THE DATE - June 27! It could be the most important thing you do for yourself this summer. From 1-4 p.m.,on our North Chicago hospital campus, we are holding our "Freedom 250" Veterans Resource Fair.
This is your chance to find out about the VA benefits you've earned by your selfless service to our country - no matter when, or where (you don't have to have served in combat).
Forget about ALL the things you think will disqualify you from receiving VA benefits, and stop by Bourke Hall (Bldg. 4), and talk to our outreach team members about a wide range of topics. From registration and enrollment, to health care, job assistance, housing help, su***de prevention, education benefits, and much, much more, our resource fair is for you.
We'll have a Mobile Vet Center on site, and representatives from the Evanston Vet Center and Veteran Service Organization (VSOs) will be here to assist you.
Our Su***de Prevention Team will have gunlocks. There will be places to have confidential chats about sensitive topics.
There will be refreshments, toxic exposure and other health screenings, and resources for family caregivers of Veterans.
This is your chance to cross "FIND OUT ABOUT VA BENEFITS" off your "to-do" list!

We are out distributing poppies for Memorial Day all weekend at Ace Hardware, Menards, and Sunset Foods.

Remember, you should not be charged for a poppy, but all donations go to helping local service members and organizations.

FREE LUNCH FOR VETERANS this month! Come join me and let’s SALUTE OUR VETS at the Lake County Responds For Veterans “Salute To Service” luncheon on May 27.

I am a board member of this non-profit. We help veterans in Lake County make repairs to their home at NO CHARGE to the veteran. This luncheon is another way to give back to veterans all around the area with a free lunch and a way to connect with other vets.

Medal of Honor recipient Allen Lynch will be speaking at the event as well.
