Pickens County Meals on Wheels employs a staff of six part-time staff, a full time program manager, full-time development & fundraising coordinator and full-time executive director. In 2015 after a capital campaign Meals on Wheels was fortunate enough to renovate a previous school facility in downtown Liberty. Our facility is named The McKissick Center for Senior Wellness which serves as the hub o
f PCMOW's operations. It is the home of our newly established PCMOW kitchen, home-delivered meal program, and the Young at Heart dining and activity program. We are centrally located in Pickens County, The McKissick Center serves as a community focal point that exclusively focuses on the three threats of aging: hunger, isolation and loss of independence. We have grown from serving 10 individuals initially in 1980 to serving more than 300 individuals each weekday. Eligibility is need-based to Pickens County residents. Client contributions are important. Daily, weekly, or monthly contributions toward the cost of meal service allow us to continue providing meals to all who need them.
