Casey County Detention Center purchased a new lawnmower with the profit we have made from canteen here at our facility. This lawnmower was bought to help in the work to beautify the Casey County Ag center. Pictured below is our Ag center crew who work to keep the Ag center clean for our community, our 2 female road crews who work tirelessly to keep our roads clean everyday, our canteen deputy and her crew members that make sure orders are filled and ready everyday, and our administration staff that continue to help provide all the necessary supplies for our crews to improve their work everyday. We strive to keep our community areas clean and presentable for our county.

Over the last few years the Casey County Detention Center has made many improvements some of this work includes:

~ 4/17/24 - Replaced 7.5 ton gas package unit
~ 5/31/24 - Installed heat pump system
~ 10/17/24 - Replaced compressor
~ 7/15/25 - Installed 4 ton 3 phase heat pump system
~ 11/25/25 - Installed 2 units
~ 12/16/25 - Control Board for the rooftop unit

This work was made possible with the help of Hayes HVAC. We have bought a total of 5 new heat and air units over the past few years. We also had part of the roof repaired that was recommended by contractors and have not had any leaks since. This was made possible with the help of our judge executive Randy Dial and Casey County Fiscal Court. Along with these changes we have purchased several new industrial appliances for our kitchen and laundry areas.

We would like to thank our men’s road crew for the hard work they have been putting in to keep our roads clean. These men picked up a couch and a mattress up at the intersection of 1649 and 837. This is just a small look into what our road crews do everyday for our community.

New Year new us! These two ladies have worked very hard in their MRT Trauma class. They took big steps to better themselves. The CCDC would like to congratulate them on their accomplishment. The CCDC provides several classes to our inmates to do our best at helping our inmates have the best chance at re-entry after being released. We have been working with the health department to make classes like these possible. A big thank you to our teachers from the health department and our very own deputy who has helped teach classes Pam Wilson, for providing an environment for our inmates to flourish and learn. As well as our wonderful Class D coordinator Sylvia Hatter for helping to provide these classes, making sure their certificates get sent in so our inmates can get time off of their sentences, and keeping our classes full. Again a big congratulations to these two on graduation their class they have worked hard for this.
