On this Memorial Day, the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office honors and remembers the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Today is not simply a day off from work or the unofficial start of summer. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every day. We remember the service members who answered the call and never returned home, and we honor the families who continue to carry that loss and sacrifice.

Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to something greater than themselves will never be forgotten. Because of their sacrifice, generations of Americans have been given the opportunity to live in freedom.

Today, we pause to remember, honor, and express our deepest gratitude to those who gave everything for our country.

As we close out National Police Week and especially today as we observe Peace Officers Memorial Day, we take time to honor and remember the brave law enforcement officers from Liberty County, and across this nation, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Here in Liberty County, we know the weight of that sacrifice personally. We remember the officers we have lost, we continue to stand with the families, friends, fellow officers, and communities forever changed by that loss, and we help ensue their legacies live on.

Today especially, we pray for peace, strength, comfort, and healing for the loved ones left behind. We hope they always feel the support, gratitude, and respect of the community their officers served so faithfully.

Their courage, dedication, and selfless service to protecting others will never be forgotten. We remain forever grateful to those who continue to serve and to those who gave everything for Liberty County and this country.

Last Saturday the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office participated in Cleveland ISD’s 3rd Annual Community Health Fair Literacy Event. The event was hosted by Sante Fe Middle School for parents and children ages 0 to 18. Each child in attendance received two free books provided by Cleveland ISD, along with hot dogs and snacks! Parents were given important information on vital community resources, with multiple counties represented and providing information. Our Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) Officer had a booth there as well! Investigator St. Julian stocked her booth with games, candy, prizes, as well as pencils and stickers representing the county wide D.A.R.E Program! We are so grateful for Investigator St. Julian and her hard work with the D.A.R.E Program!
