Clay County MO Soil and Water Conservation District The Clay County MO Soil and Water Conservation District was formed in May 1944.

Clay County was the ninth Soil and Water Conservation District to be formed in the state of Missouri.

Itโ€™s July, which means itโ€™s the start of the new fiscal year! Reegan can start signing people up for cost-share at the end of the month. If you are interested in participating in any of our cost-share programs, give Reegan a call!

Happy Soil Stewardship!!๐ŸŒŽ

Plant roots and soil work together to support plant growth. Roots take in water and nutrients, help hold soil in place, and work with tiny organisms in the soil. As roots break down, they add organic matter back into the soil, helping keep it healthy and productive.

Happy Earth Day! Reegan found some fun facts about Earth Day!

๐ŸŒŽ Earth Day was founded by Senator Ga***rd Nelson, from Wisconsin, following the 1969 oil spill. Earth Day was then celebrated for the first time on April 22nd, 1970!

๐ŸŒŽ The event acted as a catalyst for major laws, including the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act!

๐ŸŒŽ The first Earth Day, it is estimated 20 million Americans partied in different events. It is now predicted that over 1 billion people celebrate Earth Day!

๐ŸŒŽ In 1990 Earth Day went international! Now people in 141 countries recognize and celebrate Earth Day!
