Day 4: Washington DC Trip - Final Post: We have had another great day! We started this morning with Arlington Cemetery and the Changing of the Guard. Drove by the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial. Went to the National Archives Museum, Holocaust Museum, and National Portrait Gallery. We are at the airport now waiting to travel home. Our students received so many compliments for being respectful and responsible!

Day 3: Washington DC Trip - Part 2: We spent a lot of time at the Smithsonian Museums today. Many of the students tried Greek food for the first time for dinner. Then we made stops at the Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and Einstein Statue. We had a great day with our great students!

The fifth grade classes studied the 50 States and Capitals as part of their Social Studies curriculum. Both classes wrapped up the unit by selecting a state to do a poster presentation. They presented their posters to elementary students and staff. Students had to find 10 interesting facts and 7 specific facts about their state, such as the state motto, flower and bird.
