❄️ Winter Storm & Hard Freeze Preparedness – Tenant Notice ❄️

We urge all tenants to prepare for the incoming cold weather, as the risk of a Winter Storm and hard freeze continues to increase.

Please take steps now to ensure your unit is properly prepared. Tenants are responsible for taking reasonable precautions to prevent freeze-related damage.

If you experience an emergency while the office is closed, you may email [email protected]

👉 All unit-related emergencies must be reported directly to your landlord.

✅ Freeze Preparation Checklist
💧 Drip faucets (hot & cold), especially on exterior walls
🚪 Open cabinet doors under sinks
🔧 Cover or insulate exposed pipes and outdoor faucets
🔥 Keep heat ON (do not turn it off)
🚿 Know where your main water shut-off valve is
🐾 Bring pets indoors
🧊 Remove hoses from outdoor spigots
🔌 Use space heaters safely
🚨 Report leaks or burst pipes to your landlord immediately

Failure to follow freeze-prevention requirements may be considered tenant-caused damage, and tenants may be held financially responsible for resulting damages.

The Liberty County Housing Authority will open the Section 8/HCV Waiting List on Thursday, November 13th at 9:00 AM.

✅ In person applications only
✅ One application per household
✅ Have your IDs, Social Security cards, birth certificates, and income info ready
✅ Selection is by lottery — not first-come, first-served
