🚨 Casey County Remains in Extreme Drought (D3) 🚨

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report shows that drought conditions remain unchanged across Southern Kentucky, and Casey County continues to experience D3 – Extreme Drought conditions.

These prolonged dry conditions are having a significant impact on our community, including:
💧 Reduced water supplies and stress on private wells
🌱 Damage to crops, gardens, and pastureland
🐄 Challenges for livestock producers
🔥 Increased wildfire danger
🏞️ Lower stream, creek, and pond levels affecting wildlife and recreation

Residents are encouraged to conserve water whenever possible, avoid unnecessary outdoor burning, and remain aware of local fire conditions.

Our farmers, landowners, and families continue to feel the effects of this ongoing drought. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to conserve resources and support one another during these challenging conditions.

We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as they become available.

We are thankful for the recent rain, but our lake levels are still very low due to the widespread drought conditions. Water conservation is still greatly needed throughout our community.

One simple way to help is by repairing leaky faucets and fixtures. Even small leaks can waste a large amount of water over time — and fixing them can also help lower your water bill.

Every drop counts. Thank you for doing your part to help conserve water for our community.
