Introducing... (drum roll please!) the Bookmobile's new look!

Thanks to a donation from our wonderful Friends of the Casey County Public Library, we've just re-wrapped the Bookmobile! The 'Mobile now has a fresh, bright look that's sure to grab your attention as it travels all over the county. If you see it at one of our regular stops or on its way to visit a patron, make sure to stop by or wave and say hello!

Throwback to the 4th of July, when we celebrated with the folks at the Adult Daycare!

After our storytime and chair exercises, we did two activities. To practice our creativity, we decorated wooden stars in any colors we liked. Then for fine motor skills (and just for fun!) we made scratch art, where you scratch off the top layer of a picture to reveal the design underneath!

Storytime is always at the core of Library Littles, but we also always have a themed activity or craft!

This time, the craft was decorating paper fans and slap bracelets. Judging from the photos, the fans were the clear favorite! We had paper fans colored in every way you could think of, as unique as each of the kids that come to Library Littles. Come to Littles (or one of our other weekly programs) to see what your kid will create!

Season 5 of Reading Dragons and Friends is here, which means new Special Cards!

Reading Dragons is a card collecting game where you read to earn cards, and every month we have a bonus Special Card with unique requirements! For September, you can earn Jimothy the Raccoon by coming to see us at our booth at the Apple Festival on September 25th or 26th. That's all! And even if you can't make it to the festival, you can come to the Library on September 28th to get your very own Jimothy.

Want more details and first-hand news on Reading Dragons? Check out our newsletter here: https://app.smore.com/n/pxm4c

Just in time for the harvest season, we had the opportunity to support two canning classes last month!

Thanks to the Casey County Cooperative Extension Office, we were able to help provide two free canning classes for the community! We learned the basics of canning techniques and safety, and used them to can pickles, freezer jam, and salsa. Keep an eye out for more educational program like this from your Casey County Public Library and Extension Office!

Missed the class? We have a whole section of books on preserving food, including pressure canning, drying, curing, and more. Get a FREE library card today and start learning!
