Constable's Office Pct. 3 Liberty County

On 4/30/26 at approximately 2:36pm the Hardin ISD PCT 3 SRO was notified of a suspicious person near the 6th Grade building. Reports from a student to a coach stated there was someone dressed in all black, outside of the fence near the Junior High gym watching the students. Coaches immediately notified the SRO while checking the area. The Pct 3 SRO notified the LCSO SRO to ask if he could make an extra patrol around CR 2003 and the school, while cameras were being reviewed and the campus was checked. The PCT 3 SRO also requested an extra deputy from the LCSO to sit at the High School during this time, so each campus would have an officer present. During this time it was discovered that the reported suspicious person was actually a college recruiter waiting to meet with an athlete, and had already been escorted on campus by a coach. At no point was a lock down initiated or an active threat present.

The Junior High and 6th Grade building were on a temporary hold status to reduce movement during the investigation. The hold was released at approximately 3:04pm and the students resumed normal activities.

The Hornets are traveling to Cy-Fair FCU Stadium for the Regional Semi-Finals, Friday night at 7 pm! Families, friends and supporters will be hitting the road to push towards the Championship.

The GPS maps say Cy-Fair FCU Stadium is about 1.5 hours from Hardin. We'd recommend a 2 hour travel time. It's a Friday at rush hour. While a lot of the normal commuters will be off for the holiday, it's still the biggest travel time of the year. The stadium is located on the far northwest side of Harris County. The US 290/Beltway 8 area is one of the busiest traffic areas in the state. So plan ahead and pack your patience.

As the Hornets move towards the top, the Pct 3 Office wants to commend all of the supporters that have been at the games. There have been zero incidents during the regular or post-season match-ups. The fans have been respectful, yet they still let their support and sportsmanship come through.

The best of luck and skill to our Hornet team! Let's all make it back safe and sound to Hardin, with all of us celebrating W's!

The Hardin Hornets Varsity Football team will be traveling to La Porte on their continued push for the Championship trophy! We know many parents and fans will be making the trip down SH 146 to witness Hardin history. The game starts at 7 pm. Google Maps gives the travel time from Hardin to La Porte as 1 hour. If you're going to La Porte and want to get there early, it's probably best to prepare for at least 1 1/2 hour drive time. It will still be "rush hour," and an increase in the start of Thanksgiving holiday week traffic are factors to be considered.

The Pct 3 Constable's Office also hopes our Hornet fans continue with their great sportsmanship. Throughout this entire record setting season, there have been ZERO incidents of unruly fans. Hardin ISD administrators, game officials, and local law enforcement haven't had to deal with a single incident throughout the regular or post-season games. The Hornet team and all of their supporters have truly played at and displayed their best.

We want to see all of you in La Porte, then back home safe, with win #12 in the books!

Fatal accident on SH 146 at Snake River. Pct 3 is on scene assisting with traffic control. SH 146 will be closed at CR 2550 for several hours. Find alternate routes.

Hardin ISD's first home football game of the new school year will be Thursday evening. Spectators and fans should take note of the new Texas Law.

Tuesday, August 5th, is the first day of school for Hardin ISD. Expect delays on SH 146 in front of Hardin Elementary School from 7a - 8a. Local travelers needing alternate north and south routes can use CR 2058, or FM 1011/CR 2094.

Also, DO NOT pass a school bus that has its red lights flashing, and is loading or unloading students. The most expensive traffic citation fine in Liberty County is for passing a school bus that is loading/unloading (over $1000).

Drivers and students will be preoccupied with the first day scramble. Be safe. Be aware. Let's all get through the hectic first day in one piece!
