Today was an important reminder of why Meals on Wheels is about more than just delivering a meal.
When one of our volunteers was unable to reach a Liberty client during a scheduled delivery, a welfare check was requested. Liberty County officials responded and found the gentleman had fallen and was unable to get up. He was safely transported to the hospital and is now receiving care.

This is exactly why our daily visits matter. Meals on Wheels is not just a meal—it’s a lifeline, a safety check, and a connection for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

We need volunteers—especially drivers. Many of our current drivers are delivering multiple times each week to help fill the gaps. If you are able to help, even one day a week, please call our office to learn more about volunteering.

As we step into 2026, we’re grateful for what God allowed us to do in 2025—serving an average of 125 meals a day to seniors in South Liberty County.
This year, our goal is to double that impact and reach even more neighbors in need. Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and community partners who make this possible. 💙

For more than two decades, Liberty police officers have made it a point to trade their usual headwear for Santa hats each Christmas, spreading a little holiday cheer to elderly and homebound residents through the department’s Silver Santa project. What a beautiful day of fellowship, service, and teamwork at our packing party today! 💙🍽️
We are so grateful for the time we get to spend together preparing meals and then delivering them to our homebound seniors. These moments of connection, prayer, laughter, and purpose are just as meaningful as the meals themselves.
As we head into the new year, we are excited to share that we will be training new Meals on Wheels volunteers in January — and we would LOVE to have you join us! Whether you’re able to help pack meals, deliver, or simply be part of the fellowship, there’s a place for you here.
