Last night’s City Council meeting included two very special recognitions.

The City of Liberty proudly recognized Mr. Randy Cartee for 55 years of dedicated service to the fire service. We are incredibly grateful for Mr. Cartee’s many years of commitment and service to our community. Thank you to Representative Davey Hiott for joining us to present this well-deserved recognition, as well as Mr. Cartee’s family and fellow firefighters who helped us celebrate this special occasion.

Council also proclaimed September 17-23, as Constitution Week. We would like to thank Carolyn Nations and the members of the Fort Prince George Chapter of the South Carolina Daughters of the American Revolution for attending.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for these meaningful recognitions. We are grateful for the individuals and organizations who continue to serve our community, preserve our history and set an example for future generations.

Today, the City of Liberty joined Tractor Supply for their ribbon cutting ceremony.

Thank you to Mayor Wagner, Council Member, Jeff Massie, Council Member Rhonda Whitaker, Council Member William ‘Bo’ Cooley, Council Member Jon Humphrey and Council Member Gerald Wilson for attending and helping mark the occasion.

As we prepare for tomorrow’s Cars & Concert on Commerce benefit for Andrew Sauls, please be aware of the following road closures:

S. Commerce Street and W. Front Street to S. Palmetto Street will be closed from 3:00 PM until the event ends. The event will take place from 5:00–9:00 PM.

Parking will be available at Sarlin Park and along Depot Street.
