🚔🚨 Troop F Community Stabilization Unit conducts a Traffic Stop in the Town of Liberty that Leads to Seizure of 89 illegal Fi****ms and Three Arrests. 🚔🚨
On May 7, 2026, at approximately 6:12 p.m., members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit observed a 2026 Ford traveling westbound on State Route 17 near exit 98 in the town of Liberty committing several violations of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
Troopers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and interviewed the driver, identified as Malik A. Bromfield, age 22, of Ontario, Canada, along with two passengers identified as Faizan Ali, age 25, of Ontario, Canada, and Kamal J. Salman, age 22, of Boynton Beach, Florida.
During the stop, K9 Kell conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 89 illegal fi****ms of various makes, models, and calibers, 18 of which were reported stolen. Multiple extended magazines, large-capacity ammunition feeding devices, and various quantities of ammunition were also recovered.
Bromfield, Ali, and Salman were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to State Police Middletown for processing. All three defendants were ultimately turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force.
