We have had some reports of folks receiving phone calls from individuals alleging to be with the Liberty Hill Police Department. These calls usually use a β€œspoofed” phone number to look legit on caller ID and sometimes even claim to be coming from Chief Ringstaff.

The callers often threaten the person with arrest and demand payment, frequently in the form of gift cards, bitcoin, or payment apps (this is a big clue)!

❌ These calls are SCAMS. The Liberty Hill Police Department will never call you for payment. ❌

Remember, scammers often use urgency and intimidation to pressure victims into acting quickly. If something feels off, you’re most likely right. Do not provide or verify any personal information. We promise you don’t need to feel bad about hanging up on themβ€”even if they tell you not to!

If you ever receive call claiming to be from the Liberty Hill Police Department (or any other law enforcement or government agency), hang up and contact us directly at 512-515-5409.

🐾This week is also Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week! 🐾

A huge shout out to the Animal Control Officers and Livestock Deputies of the Williamson County TX, Sheriff's Office as well as the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter for everything they do. From the largest livestock, to the smallest wildlife; from fur to feathers to scales, and everything in between-- these folks really put in the work rain or shine to keep the county's animals (and humans) safe.

πŸ’› This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! πŸ’›

The work of dispatchers and call-takers is largely unseen although they too put in long hours, miss out on family events, and work difficult and emotional calls.

Thank you to ALL the Public Safety Telecommunicators, but especially Williamson County Emergency Services-- we literally could not do it without you!

🚨Heads up!🚨 A statewide Emergency Alert System test will occur on Thursday, April 2. The drill, coordinated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management, is scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. During this window, residents may receive test notifications on their mobile devices, via email, or hear outdoor warning sirens.

Because multiple jurisdictions are participating simultaneously, some residents may receive multiple alerts.

If you have not already done so, consider signing up with WarnCentralTexas.org. Already signed up? Log in to verify your contact information and saved locations!
