Each year, thanks to our dedicated leader Mrs. Heidi Bell, LC Schools supports a team for Henry County's Relay for Life. Mrs. Bell provides fundraising opportunities all year long and the Student Council of each building helps coordinate a special week in May to raise funds and awareness. At the end of the week, we held our own mini-relay for life where classes signed up and walked throughout the day. Altogether this year, the team raised close to $17,000!! We are so grateful to Mrs. Bell and all of her hard work for this cause. We would love to see the LC Community support these efforts on Friday at Henry County's Relay for Life! Everyone is welcome to attend! The event will be held in the new Event Center at the Henry County Fairgrounds.

After 10 years of dedication to Liberty Center Schools, we are proud to congratulate Diana Smith on her retirement! Beginning as a job coach paraprofessional, then serving as an educational aide in the high school and finally the middle school, she has been a consistent and steady assistant for many students.
She will miss working with students and the staff as well as Mr. Ellis making his gooey brownies! Mrs. Smith hopes to come back and sub once in awhile next school year and is looking forward to watching her grandchildren experience Liberty Center. She is excited to just enjoy this next phase of her life! Thank you for your service to our district, Mrs. Smith!

After 33 years of dedication to Liberty Center Schools, we are proud to congratulate Kati Weaks on her retirement! From 5th grade through 12th grade, she’s taught more than thirty different subjects, including keyboarding, personal finance, computer applications, and business classes.

Mrs. Weaks' students will miss her mentoring, fellow teachers will miss chatting with her in the teacher's lounge and both will miss the candy she passed out for anything and everything!

As Kati heads into her next chapter, she’s looking forward to traveling with her husband and friends, scrapbooking those adventures, and spending time with her grandkids.

We celebrate her incredible impact on our school community. Three decades at Liberty Center have left an impact that can’t be put into words, but we know we’ll see her cheering from the bleachers for years to come. Thank you, Kati!

After 36 years of dedication to Liberty Center Schools, we are proud to congratulate Doug Hinton on his retirement! He spent his entire career in 5th grade, and that's exactly where his heart has always been. He stumbled into this career never realizing the impact that others would have on him. "A hundred people say hi to me every day," Doug says, and he will miss that most of all: the students, the families, the colleagues, and being immersed daily in the goals and lives of people in our community. As Doug heads into his next chapter, he's looking forward to seeing his sons more often, and being intentional with his passions: travel, sports, music, reading, writing, and fitness. We celebrate his incredible impact on our school and community. Thank you, Mr. Hinton!
