Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission The Lexington-Fayette Urban Country Human Rights Commission investigates discrimination complaints in Employment, Housing and Public Accommodation.

The Commission is also tasked with enforcement of local Americans with Disabilities Act access violations as well as the local conversion therapy ban.

Lexington has lost a titan of civil rights. PG Peeples was longtime leader of the Urban League, a champion for equality in employment, housing, public accommodation and in our schools. He spent his life making Lexington a better, more equitable place for all. We send our condolences to his family during this difficult time.

P.G. Peeples has passed away at the age of 80.

He was with the Urban League of Lexington for 57 years, spending most of that time as its CEO.

In addition to working to make housing more affordable for everyone, he was also generous with his time whenever a member of the media reached out.

His death is a big loss for Lexington.
