This analysis by Zach Dembo for Congress is hilariously but predictably misguided.

The choice isn't between two establishment duopoly candidates who both support AI data center development, Israel, and keeping healthcare unaffordable.

It's between:
1) either of them and
2) the Kentucky Party candidate who supports:
- a moratorium on AI data centers
- ending all funding for Israel
- affordable universal healthcare

Shortly after the Wi******er, KY City Commission voted unanimously in favor of a one-year moratorium on AI data center development on Tuesday (9/1), I spoke out in favor of extending the moratorium to two years and I offered 5 policies the City Commission could pass to effectively ban AI data center development in Wi******er.

I also polled the audience on their views to make it absolutely clear to everyone at City Hall that the Wi******er community wants the City Commission to keep AI data centers out of the community—not just for two years but in general.

Finally, I announced a candidate forum on AI data centers and Flock cameras. It will be held in Wi******er on Wednesday, September 16 from 6-8pm at the new Hannah McClure Community Center.

Shortly after the Wi******er City Commission passed a one-year moratorium on data center development yesterday (9/1), I asked two informal polls of the people attending the meeting about AI data centers.

The results were clear: the overwhelming majority of people who attended the meeting want to extend the moratorium that was just passed to at least two years; and the overwhelming majority don’t want AI data centers in Wi******er at all.

I really appreciated how the meeting was handled by Mayor Reed and the rest of the City Commission, and I appreciate their unanimous decision to pass a one-year moratorium.

That’s a great start, but there’s still more to do.

The moratorium should be extended to at least two years and, in the meantime, the City Commission should do everything they can to prevent AI data center development. That’s clearly what most people in the community want.

Yesterday, I spoke out against AI data centers and announced an upcoming candidate forum on AI data centers and Flock cameras.

The candidate forum will be held on Wednesday, September 16 at the new Hannah McClure Community Center. The address is 30 Beckner St. in Wi******er, KY. Here's a link to the event page for the forum:

While I offered my appreciation for the City Commission’s decision to pass a one-year moratorium on AI data centers (less than 30 minutes before I went up to speak, no less), I also encouraged the City Commission to extend the moratorium to two years--which the very first member of the public who spoke advocated for, so credit to her. Then, I offered the City Commission five policy suggestions to help keep AI data centers out of Wi******er permanently.

After giving my five policy suggestions, I also invited both the members of the City Commission and members of the public to attend the candidate forum, which will be free and open for all to attend.

While the event will be focused on candidates who will be on the ballot on November 3, people from outside of Wi******er should feel welcome to join us well. I’ll be there as the Kentucky Party’s candidate for US Congress in KY-6, so I’ll be on the ballot everywhere from Mercer and Garrard County to Fleming County and from Estill and Powell County to Scott County, and everywhere in between. Chris Campbell, the Kentucky Party candidate for Senate, will be there as well.

I’ll be inviting other candidates from the local, state, and federal levels as well--incumbents and challengers alike. Voters deserve to know where politicians stand on AI data centers and Flock cameras. While I expect that at least a handful of local or state candidates will attend, I don’t think any of the Democrats or Republicans on the ballot for the federal government--the US House or the US Senate--will show up. Here’s why:

When it comes to the US House, my opponents in KY-6, the Republican Ralph Alvarado and the Democrat Zach Dembo, almost certainly won’t attend because they both support AI data center development. They also didn’t show up to the previous candidate forum on AI data centers on August 2 in Harrodsburg. Dembo has even indicated that he will not attend an AI data center forum even if it's planned in a way that should fit his schedule. He says we should leave it to local governments to decide how to handle things. That, of course, is effectively the same thing as saying he'll give a pass to tech companies with fleets of high-paid attorneys at their disposal, and let those tech companies have their way with poor communities all around Kentucky and the country.

While neither the Democrat nor the Republican in the KY-6 race showed up in Harrodsburg on August 2, Andy Barr (the Republican nominee for US Senate) and Charles Booker (the Democrat) didn't show up, either.

I’ll continue organizing candidate forums around KY-6, so they’ll all have more opportunities if they don’t make it to Wi******er on September 16. But I hope the voters who show up to hear candidates speak and answer questions from the public remember which candidates were there, and which ones hid from the public.

President Trump is lying when he says that rejecting AI data centers will leave communities backwards and poor. I have yet to see any compelling reasons why a community should want an AI data center, and over 70% of Americans agree: we don’t want AI data centers in our communities.

There are many reasons to oppose AI data centers being built in our communities. Unless communities have the time to put in place laws that protect the public, communities that accept AI data centers will be exploited by tech billionaires whose data centers will drive up energy costs, consume extreme amounts of water, create noise pollution, and subject the community to environmental harms that are not yet well-understood.

But even if a community passes laws to address those issues, there’s a fundamental issue that remains: the issue of popular sovereignty. Put plainly, if a community doesn’t want an AI data center, it shouldn’t have to agree to host one.

Today, I’ll be going to the City Commission meeting in Wi******er, KY to support a moratorium on AI data center development. And, if given the opportunity, I’ll offer guidance to the Wi******er City Commission on the types of policies they should implement during the moratorium to protect the community.

Of course, neither the Democrat nor the Republican in the KY-6 race will be there. They both support AI data centers even though the public clearly opposes AI data center development.

While journalists from NBC were reporting on a Palestinian woman whose home was stolen by “settlers,” a group of “settlers” attacked both the woman and the journalists.

The fact that even this NBC report refers to the attackers as “settlers” shows how strong the doublespeak is in the United States when it comes to Israel. They’re calling this “settler violence,” but to me it looks like terrorism committed by colonizers.

What do you think? Is this an act of terrorism, or just "settler violence?"

I strongly disagree with Mamdani, who discouraged the DSA from running a primary challenger against Hakeem Jeffries and still supports Jeffries as speaker of the House in 2027.

I promise not to vote for Jeffries as speaker. But the same is true for the current speaker, Mike Johnson.

The speaker of the House must be someone who puts America first, not Israel.

My Republican opponent in KY-6, AIPAC Alvarado, has edited his website to no longer mention Trump.

But earlier this year, he made an ad bragging about how he’s been a three-time Trump supporter who will be MAGA until the end. Strange.

It’s almost like he’s insincere and cares more about winning the election than he does about his “principles,” if he ever had any.

Fort Mitchell ended its contract with Flock.

Lexington and other cities around the state should follow Fort Mitchell's lead. People don't want to spend tax money on spying on themselves. Local governments should spend the the money on things that people actually want.
