Thank you to everyone who joined us for Summer Summit last week! We loved spending time with city officials from across Kentucky, sharing ideas, learning together, and building connections that help Cities Drive Kentucky. The good news? We don't have to wait long to do it again. Registration for the 2026 KLC Conference & Expo opens in just a few weeks. See you there!

Congratulations to the Shepherdsville Police Department on earning a 100% Safety & Liability Review recognition from KLC Insurance’s Loss Control Department! The recognition reflects the department’s commitment to professional standards and risk management. A great way to wrap up Summer Summit 2026!

Yesterday's sessions gave city officials and staff the opportunity to hear from legal experts, industry professionals, and regulatory leaders on the latest issues surrounding alcoholic beverage control in Kentucky. From practical guidance to real-world perspectives, attendees left with valuable insights they can take back to their communities.

Thank you to all of our speakers, attendees, and sponsors for helping make this year's Summer Summit a success. We’ll see you at the 2026 KLC Conference & Expo in September!

Day 2 of Summer Summit focused on the details that keep city government running. During City Officials Academy II, attendees explored topics like personnel management, land use, regulatory authority, budgeting, and other key aspects of municipal operations. They also had the opportunity to network with fellow city leaders and connect with our sponsors. Tomorrow, we wrap up Summer Summit with a day dedicated to Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), covering Kentucky's ABC laws, local authority, enforcement, and industry perspectives.

At his retirement dinner, Franklin City Attorney Scott Crabtree was presented with a framed copy of the Athenian Oath — a tradition for retiring KLC board members and a reminder of the values that guide public service. Scott served The City of Franklin for 30 years and for 14 years on the KLC Board of Directors, including multiple terms on the KLC Executive Board. The Athenian Oath calls on leaders to leave their communities better than they found them. Thank you, Scott, for a career dedicated to doing just that!
