OK y’all. Time for some real talk.
There are more than one of us who moderate this page. The guy making this post is the MEAN one. My area of study in college was the Middle Ages. Fascinating time period, the Middle Ages. Siege equipment had culminated in amazing advances, like the trebuchet, a building sized catapult which could jettison giant rocks over castle walls onto the defenders. The thickest armor in the world was useless when car sized rocks fell from the sky! I ❤️trebuchets!
Let’s start with some basics of how I moderate the page: if you bring a good faith question to the comments, good on you! I ❤️ answering questions almost as much as I ❤️siege engines! As a longtime educator, I know staying curious and asking questions is how we learn.
Posting slurs (including anything with the suffix ‘tard’), name calling, repeating right wing propaganda (y’all MAGA people do know the vast majority of your memes originate from Russian troll farms, right?), and otherwise not adding to the conversation will get you blocked, along with any other profiles you create. Your comments will be deleted, and it will be like you never existed. It’s the social media equivalent of the trebuchet, and it saves me lots of time, which I can then use productively to answer good faith questions. With thoughtful, well-reasoned, and accurate information. Because I respect curiosity but won’t waste my time arguing with people better off dropped into the trebuchet and jettisoned off the page.
On the other hand, if you’re a progressive and agree with my political philosophy, you can say whatever and it’s fine, right?
NO YOU CAN’T!!! I will jettison you just as fast, and maybe faster, because you’re better than that. Just don’t engage with the trolls. It’s like playing chess with pigeons—even when you checkmate them, they just strut around the board, sh****ng, knocking over pieces, and claiming they won anyway. Don’t play chess with pigeons. You’re better than that.
