Kentucky 4-H This is the official page of University of Kentucky 4-H Youth Development What do the "H"'s in 4-H Stand For? Heart
It can be tough growing up today.

Head
4-H challenges you to think and make decisions, both for yourself and as a member of a group. You will discover new ways to do things and different ways of dealing with everyday challenges. 4-H is big on self-discipline, responsibility, initiative, and leadership. You will become a positive force in todays world. Hands
In 4-H, you learn skills that you can use for the rest of your life. You w

ont just talk about it, you will actually get your hands on it, learn by doing. Members choose from about 100 different skills everything from bicycle safety to cooking to computer technology to veterinary science. 4-H often helps members discover interests that lead to rewarding careers. To sort out their ideas and emotions, 4-H members often talk to club leaders and to each other about what matters to them.

4-H gives you a chance to become friends with other young people and caring adults. It is about building character, accepting people who are different, and making your community a better place to live. Health
Being healthy means feeling good; doing your best to balance school, friends, and family; and making the best choices. 4-H focuses on developing healthy lifestyles and understanding what happens when you make unhealthy choices.

Signing Season is a time to celebrate 4-H graduates by recognizing their chosen paths forward and the skills they’ve built along the way.

4-H’ers like Eli are for whatever comes next. Eli plans to pursue Animal Science & Agriculture at Elizabethtown Community & Technical College and attend auctioneering school.

He shares, “4-H has taught me that the harder you work at something, the better you will do at it. That will help me for the rest of my life.” 💚🍀

Please join us in congratulating our 2026 Valedictorian from DOWEA Fort Campbell High School, Ms. Ava Roberts!

From livestock and shooting sports club meetings to summer camp and teen environmental camp, and even the county fair (speaking of, do you have anymore snickerdoodle’s?), we have had the privilege of watching you grow, lead, and become the remarkable young woman you are today. Your dedication, character, and commitment to 4-H truly reflect the impact you’ve made in our program and beyond.

During your speech last night, you said it best:
“There’s no single right way to move forward. There’s only your way. What matters is that we keep climbing. Even when we’re uncertain. Even when the steps feel too steep. Even when we have no idea what floor we’re supposed to be on….we are capable of more than we think”.
Ava, we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and can’t wait to see where your journey leads next.

Congratulations Ava!

Calling all Kentucky 4-H State Teen Council alumni! If you’ve ever served on STC, we invite you to come back home and celebrate 50 years of leadership, growth, service, and lifelong friendships. 💚

For generations, State Teen Council has helped young leaders across Kentucky discover their voice and make an impact that lasts far beyond their 4-H years. Now it’s time to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the incredible legacy of STC together.

We don’t want you to miss this special evening with old friends and fellow alumni!
