Lexington Police Activities League - PAL

Lexington Police Activities League - PAL The Police Activities League of Lexington is a youth crime prevention program-"Every Kid Needs a PAL"

The Police Activities League of Lexington is a crime prevention program that relies on recreation, athletic and educational activities to build positive relationships between police officers, youth and the community. Lexington PAL Mission: Crime Prevention Through Recreation
The Police Activities League of Lexington will provide kids with an even break in life and to guide them away from a life of

possible crime and drugs. The Purpose of PAL:
The Police Activities League of Lexington is a youth crime prevention program that includes recreational, athletic and educational activities. PAL’s basic philosophy of “Crime Prevention Through Recreation” is a philosophy of fair play and good sportsmanship. This philosophy promotes a positive relationship between law enforcement, community, and our youth. PAL believes, and studies have proven, that when a child respects a police officer on the ball field or in the gym, he or she will come to respect the laws that police officers enforce; therefore, benefiting the entire community. Week 4 of Cooking with Cops is in the books! 👩🏽‍🍳👮🏽‍♀️

This program was first launched by the Lexington Police Department’s Community Services Unit in 2021 to show kids that cooking can be fun, healthy, and delicious! Each week, we demonstrate how simple ingredient swaps can make everyday meals both nutritious and tasty.

So far this semester, our young chefs have made cheeseburger hot pockets, cinnamon rolls, pizza, chicken Alfredo, and breakfast tacos with homemade parfaits! 🥗🍕🌮

We’ve had so much fun learning new recipes and life skills along the way. Huge thank you to CHI Saint Joseph Hospital and Ms. Dementria Blair for partnering with us to teach kids the importance of healthy eating, and to Mr. Jerome Costner with 21st Century at Lexington Middle School for welcoming us into his program.

This past weekend, our PAL Karate team competed in the EMAC Elite Martial Arts Challenge in Richmond, KY, and represented Lexington PAL with pride! Our youth showed incredible skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, truly showing what PAL is all about.

We’re so proud of our kids and grateful for our dedicated coaches who continue to give their time, energy, and heart to help our youth grow in confidence and character.

Way to go, PAL family! 👏💙
