Today, the halls of ACE were filled with pride, memories, and a few happy tears as we welcomed back the Class of 2026 for their Senior Grad Walk. It was an honor to cheer them on as they took this special walk back through the place where it all started.

What an amazing and eventful week at Athens-Chilesburg Elementary! We officially wrapped up the school year with some of our absolute favorite traditions, and our hearts are so full.

Here is a look back at how we celebrated our wonderful students this week:

Final House Assembly and Talent Show: We witnessed some incredible student talent and officially crowned our 2025–2026 House Champions... ISIBINDI! Congratulations to the House of Courage on a spectacular year!

Kindergarten Promotion: Today we celebrated our littlest Eagles as they took the big step toward first grade. There were so many smiles and proud families in the building!

The Senior Walk: We wrapped up Friday by welcoming back our former Eagles, who are now graduating high school seniors, to walk our halls one last time in their caps and gowns. Seeing where their journey started and where they are going is always the perfect reminder of why we do what we do.

ISIBINDI are your 25–26 House Champions! 🦁💚

We will honor our champions next week at our final House Assembly on Thursday, May 28. Be sure to wear green as we celebrate Isibindi and an incredible year!

Today was a fantastic day for ACE eSports at the FCPS eSports Expo at UK! These ACE teams competed against some incredible competition today! They battled and fought and even brought home some hardware! Big congratulations to our Esports teams under the direction of of Mrs. Shawna Mitchell, Coach Fumika and Coach Karns!

Our 3-person, Super Smash Team came in 5th out of 30 teams; our Mario Kart team placed 3rd out of 28; Char Karns received the View Sonic Character & Inclusivity Award; and our 6 person, Varsity Minecraft builders players for bringing home the coveted gold on a wildly successful renovation and build project - judged by Boone Contracting in Lexington!

Well done Eagles!

To the BEST PTA around…THANK YOU for making Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week feel so incredibly special already!
From Monday’s delicious breakfast, to the HUGE hit that was the ACE Style Station, to Cane’s for lunch and room service delivered today…we have definitely felt the love, support, and appreciation all week long.
Thank you for constantly going above and beyond for our staff and making everyone at ACE feel celebrated, valued, and spoiled. We are so grateful for all you do for our school family! 🫶

Derby Day at ACE!

The track was set, the crowd was cheering, and our very own students took off in an exciting race to the finish! From start to finish, the energy was unmatched as we came together as one school, cheering on our classmates every step of the way.
It was more than just a race...it was a celebration of teamwork, spirit, and showing up for one another. 🏆🌹
