Fayette County residents: Visit LEX wants to hear from you! 📣

VisitLEX is conducting a Resident Sentiment Survey through Wednesday, Sept. 23 to help guide future tourism development while supporting and enhancing quality of life for our community.

The confidential survey takes about 10 minutes, is available in English and Spanish, and is open to Fayette County residents ages 18 and older. Participants can also enter for a chance to win one of 15 gift cards!

Enforcement of Lexington’s bike lane parking ban begins September 27. 🚲

Beginning September 27, 2026, Lexington Police Department and LexPark will issue $50 citations to vehicles parked in bike lanes. The City may also tow vehicles that pose a public safety concern.

Warnings are currently being issued during a 30-day grace period.

The ordinance, unanimously approved by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, is intended to improve roadway safety and reduce situations where cyclists must leave blocked bike lanes and enter traffic.

La aplicación de la prohibición de estacionarse en los carriles para bicicletas de Lexington comienza el 27 de septiembre. 🚲

A partir del 27 de septiembre de 2026, la Policía de Lexington y LexPark emitirán multas de 50 dólares a los vehículos estacionados en los carriles para bicicletas. La ciudad también podrá remolcar aquellos vehículos que representen un riesgo para la seguridad pública.

Mark your calendars—Free Mulch Day is this Saturday! 🌱

Lexington residents can pick up one free pickup truck load of mulch for fall planting on Saturday, September 19, from 8 a.m.–noon, or while supplies last.

1631 Old Frankfort Pike — enter via Jimmie Campbell Drive
Limit one pickup truck load per resident
Please do not arrive before 8 a.m.

No truck? A self-serve area will be available for smaller amounts. Bring your own shovels, bags, tarps, and other supplies. A 10-minute loading limit applies, and City staff cannot provide loading assistance.

The 18th annual Dining Out For Life® brings together restaurants across Lexington, Richmond, Berea, and Mt. Sterling to support AVOL Kentucky.

Simply enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at a participating restaurant, and a portion of the day’s sales will support HIV prevention, testing, access to care, housing, and other essential services throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky.

Last year’s event raised a record-breaking $121,000+—let’s help make an even bigger impact this year!

Help make Lexington a more Heart Safe Community! ❤️

Lexington’s Cardiac Crusade Cardiac CATS initiative is working to map and verify AED locations throughout our community—helping make these lifesaving devices easier to locate during a cardiac emergency.

You can help: Download the PulsePoint AED app and submit AEDs you see at local businesses, churches, gyms, schools, offices, and other community spaces.

Volunteers are also needed to verify AED locations and turn them “gold” on the map. Students can earn service hours while helping make Lexington safer.

📅 Campaign Kickoff: October 16 at 5 p.m.
