The Lexington Youth Arts Council creates initiatives that allow youth to become active participants and creative shapers of the arts and cultural programs in Lexington. The Youth Arts Council builds leadership, critical thinking and cultural organizing skills for Lexington youth. It provides youth with tools and opportunities that allow them to develop the skills to contribute to the process of providing art & culture through the community.
Participants work together with LexArts staff to develop ideas for youth programs and learning opportunities.Through the efforts of the Council, the community will gain a deeper understanding of the youth experience in the arts while also encouraging the cultivation of future participants and patrons of the arts.
