🌟 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Ayanna Parker! 🌟

We're shining a spotlight on Ayanna Parker, our incredible VP of Community! Ayanna has been a dedicated member of the League for six years, and her passion for giving back truly inspires us.

For Ayanna, the League has been an amazing catalyst for personal growth. She credits the organization with helping her step outside her comfort zone, giving her the push to connect with new people and confidently take on roles that were totally outside her usual wheelhouse.

"My favorite part about the Junior League is being involved in the community. Through the Junior League, I have been able to see and volunteer at places that I may not have found on my own."

Thank you for six wonderful years of service and leadership, Ayanna - we are so lucky to have you guiding our community efforts!

🌟 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Ellen Sawyer! 🌟

We’re excited to highlight Ellen Sawyer, our Sustainer Advisor to Membership. 💙 After spending five years with the Chicago League, Ellen brought her passion for service and community to the Junior League of Lexington, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our chapter.

Since joining JLL, Ellen has embraced every opportunity to connect with fellow members and get involved throughout the Lexington community. Whether attending social events, joining book club discussions or gathering at monthly dinners, she values the relationships and sense of community that make the League so special. 📚✨

What an inspiring week at the 2026 AJLI Annual Conference in Indianapolis! 💙

This year’s conference celebrated “125 Years to Forever” of the Junior League movement through leadership development, collaboration, and connection with Leagues from across the country.

We were especially proud to celebrate JLL member Camisha Boyd Powell, who was honored during the 40 Under 40 celebration alongside outstanding League leaders nationwide.

JLL President Opa Owiye Johnson was also in attendance, representing our League and connecting with fellow leaders from across the Association.

We love seeing our members leading, learning, and continuing to make an impact both locally and beyond. ✨

Nonprofit of the Month 💫

This month, we’re honored to spotlight The Nest - Center for Women, Children and Families — an organization that creates a safe, supportive space for children and families navigating challenging times.

The Junior League of Lexington proudly donated $30,000 to help transform The Nest’s supply room into a more welcoming, efficient and accessible space for families in need. The updated space now helps provide diapers, formula, car seats, toiletries, cleaning supplies and children’s clothing to families across our community with greater dignity and ease.

Beyond basic necessities, The Nest offers counseling, parenting classes and advocacy services that help families heal, grow and thrive. Their impact reaches thousands across Lexington, and we’re proud to support the meaningful work they do every day 🤍

We love these words from Stephanie, who has been an incredible part of our League for the past year and a half and is currently part of the Membership Hospitality Committee. She joined JLL looking for a strong network of passionate, driven women who value deep, authentic relationships while making a meaningful difference in the community.
