Reminder: The Wi******er Rd Corridor Study Open House is happening tomorrow!

This Public Open House will be held at the Charles Young Community Center Gym from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10. Due to the Labor Day holiday, there will be no City waste collection on Monday, Sept. 7. Residents who normally receive curbside pickup on Mondays will be served on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Place trash, recycle and yard waste carts on the curb after 4 p.m. on Tuesday for collection on Wednesday. Residential curbside pickup on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday will not be affected.

The Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, the Lexington Recycle Center and the Electronics Recycle Center will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 7. Interested in getting more involved by serving on a LFUCG Board or Commission? Consider attending the Boards and Commissions Fair on Monday, September 14 to learn about ways you can get involved in your city government and meet community volunteers that are currently serving. The fair is a drop-in event so stop by any time between 4pm-6pm. There will be free popcorn, icy treats and games for kids (young and old)! Hot dogs will also be available from a local vendor for a small fee.

Yesterday was our annual Council Ag Day! This year we visited FoodChain, Clark Family Farm and the Kentucky Horse Park. Thank you to Mayor Linda Gorton for kicking us off with remarks at our first stop, Erica Rogers (Director of Agricultural Development in the Mayor's Office) for organizing Council Ag Day, Central Kentucky Ag Credit for sponsoring lunch, and all our stop hosts for welcoming us and sharing how they contribute to our successful agricultural industry here in Lexington-Fayette County.
