Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, honoring the day all enslaved people in the country were legally freed.
And while the official Juneteenth holiday is next Friday, June 19, Lexington is celebrating all week long with events from Sunday, June 14, to Sunday, June 21. Hereโs a brief overview, but you can find more details and event descriptions at the link in our bio.
