The Fayette County Cooperative Extension Service’s Community Arts Program is partnering with The Lyric Theatre to offer a free 12-week Community Acting Cohort beginning April 7, 2026.
Acting classes are returning to The Lyric Theatre, continuing a commitment to accessible, community-based arts programming in Lexington. This cohort is designed to provide hands-on acting experience in a supportive environment where participants can build performance skills, confidence, and creative expression.
Classes will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and are open to participants ages 16 and older.

The Fayette County Cooperative Extension Service’s Community Arts Program, in partnership with Community Innovation Lab and LexArts, is inviting artists to submit work for the “Got Stress! Mental Health Art Exhibition” in Lexington, KY.
This upcoming exhibition centers on mental health, stress, and well-being, encouraging artists to explore themes such as coping strategies, emotional expression, and community health through their work.
Selected pieces will be part of a curated exhibition, and two artists will receive a $500 honorarium. Artwork will be showcased during the May 15 Gallery Hop, offering artists the opportunity to share their work with a broad public audience.
Submission deadline: April 20, 2026
Location: Lexington, KY
This is an opportunity to share meaningful work, contribute to important conversations around mental health, and engage with the local arts community through the Community Arts Program.
