About ASK

As foster and adoptive parents, we often need the support, knowledge and encouragement of those who share the unique experience of fostering and adoption. We all know and understand the value of connecting with someone else who “gets” our struggles, our worries, and our celebrations. Adoption Support for Kentucky (ASK) exists to help link you and your family with other foster/adoptive parents – parents who understand and with whom you can establish real connections through shared experiences.

ASK has been providing adept peer-led support groups and training initiatives for nearly two decades. The award winning services ASK offers are expressly designed to meet the needs of foster and adoptive parents in an inclusive, safe, and compassionate environment. Through the ASK Virtual Interaction Program (ASK-VIP), an array of peer support groups are available virtually. There are groups for foster, adoptive, and relative/fictive-kin caregivers, as well as specialized support groups for LGBTQ+, transracial, medically complex, and single foster/adoptive parents. ASK-VIP also offers virtual training on a variety of foster and adoption related topics. For foster parent participants, training credit in a group setting is available.

If you want to share resources, suggestions, frustrations and successes with those who share the unique experience of fostering and adoption, ASK is for you!
