Two juveniles have been charged in connection with a robbery and shots fired that occurred Saturday afternoon near Shillito Park.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, around 2:10 pm, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of W Reynolds Road for a reported robbery. While en route, officers were able to locate the two juvenile suspects, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, and take them into custody. During the investigation, the officer learned that a 14-year-old victim had been robbed, and shots were fired in the direction of the victim.

The 15-year-old was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Minor, Fleeing and Evading 3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. The 17-year-old was charged with Robbery 1st Degree. Both were taken to a juvenile detention center.

🚨TRAFFIC ALERT – Lexington Pride Festival

Today, May 30, the Lexington Pride Festival take place on Oliver Lewis Way. To accommodate the festival, Oliver Lewis Way will be temporarily closed between W High Street and S Broadway from 8 am to 11 pm.

There will be heavier vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area. Anyone traveling to the event or through the area should use caution and follow all posted traffic signs and signals. Officers will be in the area to assist with traffic. Follow all directions given by officers and be prepared to SLOW DOWN in the area.

🚦If you are attending the event or traveling through the area, allow yourself extra time to arrive at your destination.

đźš• Motorists should be aware that there will be heavier pedestrian traffic in the area and should use caution.

đźš¶Pedestrians should follow all signs and use the crosswalks.

🛑 And, as always, whether you are at the event or not, DO NOT DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS!

On May 29, 2026, around 5:00 am, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Boysenberry Street for a shooting with a victim. While responding, officers received an update about the victim’s location and found the male victim in the 800 block of Manchester Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to call Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers by calling (859) 253-2020 or online at www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.

We want to thank the Cornell Club of Kentucky for volunteering their time to help clean up the Gainesway Park Pond over the weekend! The group braved the weather to pick up trash and other debris from the water and the surrounding area.

Gainesway Park Pond is now ready for Cops & Bobbers on June 6! Join us on June 6, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm for a fun event featuring fishing, free food, and face painting. No previous fishing experience or fishing license is required, and fishing equipment will be provided. Cops and Bobbers is a free event designed for children. We hope to see you there!

Last month, our Canine Unit trained with members of Fort Knox’s 905th Military Working Dog Detachment and other law enforcement agencies. The training covered three topics: drug and explosives detection, and veterinary skills.

Training like this allows us to collaborate with other agencies and stay up to date on the latest information and techniques.
