Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky (KHAKY)

Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky (KHAKY) Our goal is to lighten the burden of kidney disease throughout Kentucky! KHAKY is making a difference in Kentucky - saving kidneys, not just saving lives!

Serving over 400 patients each year through the dietary supplement program, emergency financial assistance and other patient focused programs, we are helping patients stay healthier, live longer and even get transplanted sooner! KHAKY is continually working to develop programs that will educate our communities about kidney disease and the need for living kidney donors. Through our kidney health sc

reenings at businesses, civic events and health and wellness fairs, KHAKY screens more than 700 individuals every year. The screenings detect early indicators of possible kidney disease and, if treated, the early intervention may save their kidneys! You can be part of our movement through your willingness to volunteer, donate, and share our mission with others.

🩺 Yes — You Can Protect Your Kidneys Naturally

Many people think kidney disease just happens…
But in reality, your daily habits play a huge role.

The good news? You can protect your kidneys — starting today.

💧 1. Stay well hydrated
Water helps your kidneys flush out toxins and maintain balance in your body.

🥗 2. Control your blood sugar
High blood sugar silently damages kidney filters over time.

🧂 3. Reduce excess salt
Too much salt raises blood pressure — a major cause of kidney damage.

🚶‍♀️ 4. Stay active
Regular movement improves circulation and supports kidney function.

🚫 5. Be careful with painkillers
Frequent or unnecessary use can harm your kidneys without warning.

🥦 6. Eat real, whole foods
Focus on vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, and balanced meals.

😴 7. Prioritize good sleep
Poor sleep can affect blood pressure and overall kidney health.

🧠 8. Manage stress levels
Chronic stress can contribute to high blood pressure and metabolic imbalance.

🩺 9. Check your health regularly
Monitor blood pressure, blood sugar, and kidney function early.

⚠️ Remember:
Kidney damage is often silent — but prevention is powerful.

✅ Small daily choices = strong, healthy kidneys.
