I was honored to be named one of The Council of State Governments 20 Under 40 Leadership Award recipients, recognizing leaders committed to public service and making a difference.

At the 2025 CSG National Conference, I shared a message I strongly believe in: we can fight for our beliefs, debate fiercely, and still lead with kindness.

That’s how we create lasting, positive change for the communities we serve.

This week, CSG national leaders and state officials gathered on Capitol Hill for the CSG National D.C. Fly-in: Focus on Federalism. 🇺🇸

As we approach America's 250th, attendees explored how the federal-state relationship has evolved since the founding — and how CSG can best advocate for the states in our federal system. From a behind-the-scenes tour of the Library of Congress to recognizing U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn as a Champion of Federalism, it was three days of nonpartisan dialogue on shaping the next chapter of the great American experiment.
