𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: This presentation will explore the hidden role brain injury plays in the lives of justice involved youth and why it so often goes undetected in behavioral health settings. Participants will learn how brain injury symptoms frequently mimic trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, and behavioral disorders - leading clinicians and systems to misunderstand the youth sitting in front of them. The session will examine how brain injury changes the way youth process information, respond to stress, engage in therapy, and function within systems. Participants will leave with practical screening ideas, intervention adaptations, and a framework for shifting from "What's wrong with this youth?" to "What happened to this brain?".

HAPPY MONDAY!

Last week, the NPJS Board of Directors met in Washington, D.C. to review and update our organization's strategic goals.

Joining us last week were representatives from the National Association of Counties (NACo). We were also so thankful for our friends at HillStaffer who helped support us with their facilitation of the meeting.

We were able to accomplish a great deal and look forward to sharing some of our great discussions in the coming weeks and months.
